The PRG-150R is a remote-controlled nitrogen regulator with integrated flowmeter, developed for nitrogen brazing in HVAC and refrigeration systems.

The PRG-150R is a flowmeter used to inert refrigerant circuits during brazing operations by injecting a continuous stream of nitrogen into the piping.
The purpose is to prevent the formation of flux residues (calamine) during brazing. Indeed, oxides (calamine) can detach and circulate in the refrigerant, which may:

  • clog the filter drier,
  • block the capillaries,
  • or damage the compressor.

Calamine can also compromise the strength or tightness of the braze, leading to leaks. Finally, these oxides can disturb the chemistry of the refrigerant and degrade the oil in the circuit.

When brazing under nitrogen, the cylinder is usually placed near the outdoor unit. In the case of commercial sites, for example, the indoor units may be located far from the outdoor unit, sometimes across several floors.
In such cases, manually closing the cylinder between brazing operations would be complicated, leading to significant and costly nitrogen overconsumption.
Thanks to the remote control and solenoid valve of the PRG-150R, it is possible to remotely open and close the nitrogen cylinder, thus saving both time and money.

No. Although the flow rate of the flowmeter is adjustable between 0 and 30 L/min, the output pressure is fixed at 3.5 bar.
